A Journey Built On Growth
Laura Tang Leteri is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt from Singapore whose journey in the art began in 2011. Since then, she has lived, trained, and competed across Singapore, the United Kingdom, and Australia, building a deep and well-rounded understanding of the art.
Over the years, her focus has grown beyond competition and technique. What drives her most is the impact Jiu-Jitsu can have on people, especially children. At Rockingham BJJ, she brings that experience into every class with energy, intention, and genuine care, helping students grow not just in skill, but in who they are becoming.
For Laura, Jiu-Jitsu is not just about learning movement and technique. It’s about helping people grow in confidence, self-belief, and resilience, so they can carry those qualities with them far beyond the academy.
How Laura Coaches
As our Kids Head Coach, Laura brings an engaging, structured, and positive energy to every class.
She believes the best learning happens when students feel safe, encouraged, and understood, helping children and beginners develop skills in an environment that feels welcoming rather than intimidating. Her classes are designed to keep kids moving, thinking, and growing, while building real confidence through consistent progress.
For Laura, coaching is about more than teaching Jiu-Jitsu skills. It’s about helping children become the kind of people who can stand up for themselves, stand up for others, and grow into confident young leaders with strong values both on and off the mats. For her, Jiu-Jitsu is a tool to help children develop confidence, resilience, and self-belief that carries into school, friendships, and everyday life.
Who Laura Loves Helping
Laura is deeply passionate about helping children, girls, women, and nervous beginners feel comfortable, capable, and proud of what they can achieve.
She understands that stepping into something new can feel intimidating. That’s why she works hard to create an environment where students feel supported, included, and excited to learn, make mistakes, and grow with confidence from day one.
She aims to not just impact the children who train with her, but also strengthen their wider community, by helping children become not only bullyproof themselves, but also be the kind of people who support others, speak up when something isn’t right, and lead with kindness and strength.
For Laura, Jiu-Jitsu is about helping children become hard to bully, but also the kind of people who won’t stay silent when someone else needs support. This is where Jiu-Jitsu becomes more than a martial art. It becomes a foundation for life.
